I don't like to compare farming or business to gambling. Yes there is risk involved, and a lot of unknown risk, but we work and create products to sell. If done properly and ethically in business everybody "wins". The buyer and the seller come to terms and agree on a price and product.
Gambling if I "win" all the other poor saps sitting next to me lose and get nothing in return. Well, except for that noise and hysterical feeling you mentioned. All because a bunch of spinning numbers or bouncing ping-pong balls happen to fall in my favor instead of them. Where is the honor and decency in that.
Sorry for the rant. It has been on my mind lately watching all the poor and dumb buying lottery tickets in front of me EVERYTIME I go in a convenience store. And a proposed Casino in our community.
Agree. We're not gamblers, we're in business.
No different that any other business except that people in our business seem to complain a lot. |
