When do we quit talking about the Illinois crop and move on to the bulk of the corn belt. As good as the yields are Illinois is still a small percentage of the total corn crop. The bears have played that card out.
There are 6 or 8 counties in central/ west central IL that produce 25% of the bushels in this country, it takes the northern half of IA and southern 2 rows of counties in MN to produce the next 25%. The last 50% or so is produced in the rest of the country.
Those few IL counts are very important to our final yeild. Look at the 2012 drought year, had IL had a great weather year, the August high would have never gotten to where it did.
