Subject: Yield report

NW Indiana
I guess I’m still not seeing the 13 bushel increase in IL. Personally im cutting beans below aph so hard to be positive. I still think we shake out around last year on corn.
ALABAMA
Lawrence County (north Alabama) - 40 bpa will be about it for the beans .A great start followed by a hot dry month slammed them.

ILLINOIS

DeWitt County (central IL) – First field of beans made 91 bpa, vs. 79 bpa 2 years ago.

Piatt County (central IL) – 500 acres of corn averaged 262 bpa this year, vs. 249 bpa last year.

Champaign County (central IL) – First field of corn averaged 266 bpa this year, vs. 240 bpa 2 years ago.

McLean County (central IL) – 4 fields of corn harvested. Field #1 made 230 bpa, 3% above the APH. Field #2 made 204 bpa, down 4% from 2 years ago. Field #3 made 231 bpa, down 4% from last year. Field #4 made 197 bpa, down 18% from last year. So variable is the word here. It will be a big crop, but I question whether it will be a record breaker.

McLean County (central IL) – 43 acres of beans made 55 bpa.

McLean County (central IL) - First field of corn made 200 bpa, about the same as last year. Another field of corn made 207 bpa, vs. 195 bpa last year.

Livingston County (east-central IL) – First field of corn made 248 bpa, vs. 253 bpa last year. Producer is pleased. He feels other farms will not be as good.

Livingston County (east-central IL) – First field of corn made 200 bpa, which is down 4 bpa from last year.

Livingston County (east-central IL) – A field of corn made 215 bpa, compared to 219 bpa last year.

Macon County (central IL) - 120 acres of corn (3 separate fields) averaging 234 bpa dry. LY made 218. Record was 247 bpa in 2014. APH is 208 bpa.

Tazewell County (central IL) – 40 acres of corn made 261 bpa. It got the rain. 80 acres of corn made 191 bpa. It did not get the rain.

Peoria (central IL) - 80 acres of corn made 262 bpa, which is a record for this field.

Moultrie County (central IL) – First field of corn made 226 bpa. This is a good yield for this field.

Sullivan (central IL) - 40 acres of beans went 88 bpa. Another 40 acres of beans went 72 bpa – this one had quite a bit of water damage. Both were 3.1’s. Currently on some 3.3’s that will probably end up around 80 bpa.

Sangamon County (west-central IL) – First field of beans made 80 bpa. 13% moisture.

Greene County (southwest IL) – Corn harvest is 15% done. 1 inch of rain over weekend. Running 200 bpa, which is up from 180 bpa last year. Moisture already under 15.5 out of the field and test weight running 57 to 58 pounds. Thought yields would be a little higher. Heat hit this crop late.

Greene County (southwest IL) - Corn harvest almost 40% done. Yields holding at 200 bpa vs 180 bpa last year. Moisture down to 14.5%.

Ladd (north-central IL) - First beans across the scale made 70.9 bpa.

Woodford County (central IL) - First 80 acres of corn made 250 bpa, vs. 245 bpa last year. Another 80 acres of corn (which was beans last year) made 275 bpa.

Iroquois County (northeast IL) - Drought issue area, corn running 130-140 bpa. Beans running 40-45 bpa

Varna (north-central IL) - 460 acres of corn made 228 bpa this year, vs.279 bpa last year. Farmer was extremely disappointed.

Kankakee County (northeast IL) – This was a drought area this year. 75 acres of corn made 150 bpa. Moisture was 18%.

Kankakee County (northeast IL) – 2 of my poorer fields on the edge of the drought area made 220 bpa. Was expecting 180 bpa.

Madison County (southwest IL) – 380 acres of corn averaged 235 bpa.

Madison County (southwest IL) - 850 acres of corn shelled and running 230 bpa dry…5 bpa better than last year.

Madison County (southwest IL) – 80 acres of corn made 222 bpa, vs. last year’s yield of 202 bpa. Moisture was 16.5%.

Montgomery County (south-central IL) – First field of corn made 244 bpa. A little disappointing, but the field had nitrogen application issues (green streaks) throughout the field. Another field (40 acres) made 286 bpa.

Hancock County (western IL) – 160 acres of corn made 288 bpa. Another 60-acre field made 290 bpa dry. Better than expected. Hoping the yields hang in there.

Morgan County (west-central IL) - 80 acres of beans went 85 bpa across the scale. 13% mst. “I don’t know where we’re going to put all these beans.”

Little York (western IL) - First field. Corn made 230 bpa. I would say better than expected and not quite as good as last year.

INDIANA

Howard County (central IN) - Cut a small field of corn before the rains came. Pleasantly surprised as it went close to 240 bpa. Rcvd 4” over the last few days so won’t be able to run until later in the week. Anxious to see if this yield holds up.

Northwest IN – First field of beans made 78 bpa, which is 10 bpa better than last year and 10 bpa vs. average.

Indianapolis (central IN) – First field of corn made 245 bpa. Best ever on this farm. The later corn looks even better.

IOWA

Mahaska County (south-central Iowa) – First 90 acres of beans went 80 bpa. Last year was 64 bpa.

Brooklyn – (central Iowa) – 80 acres of corn made 245 bpa, about as expected. Super high fertility (manure). Farmer hopes for an all-farm average of 220 bpa.

Boone County (central Iowa) - 110 acres of beans went 70 bpa.

Boone County (central Iowa) - 75 acres of beans made 58 bpa.

SE IA - Henry Co – Yield reports of 160, 175, 190, 195, 230, 255. The lower yields were on some hybrids that died early. Better corn yields on good dirt. About 3-5% harvested in area. Corn yields steady to up 40 for producers vs 2017.

SE IA – Henry Co – 3 days into bean harvest and operator reports bean yields near 68. About avg for this producer.

SE IA - Lee Co – Yield reports of 170, 175, 185, 190, 210, 220, 250, 260. The corn that caught a few extra inches of rain is really good. Corn moistures 18-20% on 9-12-18. 5% done. Corn yields could be up 20-30 bpa vs last yr.

SE IA - Van Buren Co – 45 acres went 180 bpa

SC IA - Lucas Co – first field of corn went 160 bpa. Farmer was expecting 120 with all of the dryness this summer.

C IA – Poweshiek Co - Started corn on 9-13. Yielding 250 bpa. Mst is 23%

Panama (western Iowa) – First field of beans made 76 bpa. 12.9% moisture.

KANSAS

Robinson - 165 acres of corn made 146 bpa, which was slightly better than expected, but 25 bpa below the APH. This area was hot and dry most of the growing season.
