South Central Iowa | City fathers and the local daily (semi daily) probably talk about becoming the "Silicon Prairie" like Des Moines and every other two-bit Midwestern town does. Need them high-tech jobs. Little did they know real Silicon Valley is already "disrupting" that model and just becoming pot growers. Haha.
Maybe we could convert some of those giant, near-peopleless data centers into indoor greenhouses? Hmmmmm.... Lots of heat and fans on them..... Maybe they already are!
Kind of like there use to be some law in Iowa regarding tower heights. So when cell phone towers were being built in the 90's, a company found a loophole. There was an Ag exemption, so they built concrete silos along I-35 and put the towers inside! You can still see the towers today about every 5-6 miles. Some of the tops have been taken off and the tower is visible where the dome was. Don't know how much trouble they got in, if any, but it's kind of funny story. They build nice ones out of concrete block, kind of scenic. Lol
I'm really off in the woods now.... | |
