Subject: RE: Feed grinders height

holsteinohio - 8/31/2018 10:43 How high of a bin will most pull type feed grinders reach. Or just tell me what size bins your filling. Dia & number of rings. Tia. I suppose the brand of grinder would matter also.

An Artsway grinder with the unload auger starting at the top of the mixer will unload into a lot higher bin vs a New Holland or Gehl with the same length unloading auger.

We dump into 2 ring 9' feed bins (approx 18' tall) with our 6530 Arts-Way with ease, probably could do a 3 ring that is just under 21' tall but have never tried.

Prior to the 6530 we used a 5165 Arts-Way and a 500A Arts-Way dumping into the same bins.

The 355 New Holland that we used at a neighbors place struggled to dump into a 2 ring 6' bin that is approx 14' tall.
