| county fairs. The problem is that if you win grand at a county fair and sell a cheese basket at the county level you can’t compete with that animal at state. It really puts the screws to the dairy kids. The reason they do it is they don’t want to share a piece of the pie. They used to let the dairy participate in a half arsed way before they changed the auction format and conveniently left the dairy out. I almost had the situation fixed a couple years ago and our Governor and Director of ag asked me to call off the dogs with a promos to get things changed. Now, both of those guys are in Washington. I have other family priorities right now, but eventually myself and a few other people will get it fixed one way or the other. | |
