Southern Indiana | Noticed a calf this morning, 2 week old bull from a 1st calf heifer laying off by himself, alert but didn't get up and run away either. Early so I thought he might not be quite awake. Just checked again about 6 and he just a little lethargic so I figure some Baytril and banamine won't hurt, so by the time I get back with the shot he's nursing,, or attempting to but his tongue hangs out the side of his mouth and he has a hard time getting on the teet. Not sure if he's getting anything or not. He feels good enough I couldn't catch him. When he looks at you his tongue hangs out the side. Should I be concerned? Any suggestions or ideas appreciated. | |
