nw NC
I am on Hamby's mailing list and got notice that the story was available . I had read it before, as I received a mailing from them in 2014 with the same story. The Klondike cow was from Elkin, North Carolina which is about 30 miles from me. My father had told me the story when I was young. He knew all about the Byrd expedition and the bull calf "Iceberg" being born. He remembered it from his childhood. It was big news in the newspapers in this area especially because of Klondike Farm being in North Carolina.

Some up to date info about the Klondike Farm . It is now a winery.
