We also have to buy corn in addition to what we raise, but we still rotate in alfalfa to help bring down our phos levels. the n-p-k ratios of manure don't match up with typical corn removal rates and we end up getting really high phos numbers. We also have some farms where alfalfa generates a higher (or less negative...) economic benefit than corn does.
