south central WI | If you think that you do, I have a few hundred holstein heifers I would like you to raise! You dont owe him anything, he gave away his losers. You raised them and supplied all the inputs and labor. If you feel like he deserves something, then give him a little as a token. Maybe figure out what a junk pig was worth at the time and age he gave them to you. I know absolutely nothing about pigs, but my guess was they weren't worth much to begin with. Figure that out and give him that if you can afford it. Figure out your true costs though. You need to be paid for your labor, machinery, etc. If you still have a decent profit, you can share a little if you feel like it. If you don't, you shouldn't feel obligated. | |
