| We run a Schuler 5020 and routinely do that exact mix when we run out of ground hay before the grinder returns. Takes 20-30 min but works well, has plenty of room,and I actually like the rougher cut that the mixer provides. You wouldn’t want to use it on 7 or 8 bales a day though.
Edit to add: We also use it to rough grind 3-4 cornstalk bales a week for bedding in our calving shed. The stalk leaves absorb moisture so much better than straw.
