I would put cows on good pasture before drylot anyday and I bet 99% of ranchers would do the same.



EXACTLY. You are apparently very dense. There are basically NO inputs with a pasture especially one with good fence and water. On the other hand a dry lot requires feeding every day and supply water as well as a better mineral program and cleaning the pen. Those are all INPUTS and cost a lot more than a pasture. Therefore a dry lot COSTS MORE than a pasture lease and is a great basis to compare against pasture lease asking prices.
