Subject: RE: wonder how much more of our laws are from the Bible

We (Christians) don't live under the old law (Old Testament). We live under the New Testament. Completely different set of laws. Again God's laws before Christ were given to different groups of people at different times for different purposes. Paul and other New Testament writers make it clear that the old law ceased to exist with the death of Christ. The point I was trying to make concerning the old law is God demanded all nations follow His commands. He was not concerned with only the Jews. If He did not have laws for other nations, why did he punish Nebuchadnezzar (king ofBabylon) and his son Belshazzar or threaten to destroy the city of Nineveh for their wickedness? Paul states that where there is no law, there is no sin. So they had to be under some form of law from God. Some of those written laws of other nations could very well be similar to the old law of the Israelites during the time of Moses. He was and is God of all people.
