We used to have the same issue. Had 3 calves in one season with the issue. Our area is sandy and Selenium deficient. After a shot of BoSE they came out of it within a day. After that we started a new mineral program that had Selenium in it. We haven't had the issue since. The cows get the mineral all year long.
