I would try hmc again. We started rolling and bagging it quite a few years ago. Before that we used a grinder mixer for our dairy cows and there's no way I'd go back! Make sure you put it up at a good moisture, and have your roller mill set correctly. When feeding it out try to disturb as little as possible. We'll have some that heats a little in the summer but not bad.

If you have a forage harvester with a KP they can do a nice job of rolling corn.
