Mankato MN; Casa Grande AZ | Perhaps your eggs are dirty caused by a poor nest design.
Our inspector recommended that we don’t wash the eggs if they are clean.
Washing is slow, expensive, and it removes nature’s protective coating that gives eggs a longer shelf life.
We use these roll out nests and the eggs go from the nest to the carton.
Last night we picked 18 dozen eggs. 16 dozen were laid in the nests, 2 dozen were laid on the floor in sawdust.
We need to wash the 2 dozen laid in the sawdust, the eggs laid in the nest need no washing.
It takes my wife 15 minutes to clean, inspect, and pack 18-20 dozen.

I ordered extra nest pads to rotate when dirty.
We have 50 birds per nest.
Good luck! |
