I gave up on corn longs because I wasn't going to buy carry when we rolled to Sep. I lost about 2500 on that deal. Had some long soybeans that went pretty deep green on Friday, so I rolled into some calls and took some profit back on Monday. Turns out it's better to be lucky than good sometimes.
I also rolled down some corn options... $4 Dec puts to 3.60. Bought back 4.60 Dec calls and sold $4 calls. My effective price today going from $4.20 futures to 3.60 puts (still have downside protection) is still 4.17 or so and have upside back to $4. I'll buy back that call at 50% decay.
I'm not bullish but I am expecting a good bounce with in 75 days. |
