I don't follow soybean options so I don't have any thoughts on soybean options ability to explain soybean futures market price behavior. Your thought is as good as any.

Options are derivatives of the underlying futures. As such, they are leveraged futures. The only new information in options is leverage. Leverage is option strike/premium for options buyer (option controls price of underlying futures for option buyer).
