South Central Iowa | What's the reasoning behind more?
Seems most are basing it on, "I see lots of bean fields."
I think they are adjusting downward. The number is and always has been a wild ass guess. Now they are factoring in a multitude of things such as: lost acres to sprawl, hog barns, wind mills, required buffers, etc. all in addition to pasture and hayfield conversion and just some acres in the fringe really do just get abandoned. The number is still just a WAG, but a lower WAG now. | |
