The northern fringe of the corn belt is so 180 degrees opposite of what most of you are experiencing, it's like we are on different planets!

Ground is so waterlogged, and it has been so cloudy and rainy for so long, beans aren't growing at all, corn is uneven, 1/2 stunted yellow or drowned out, 1/2 did sprint along in the heat and humidity we just had overthe weekend and looks nice, well what wasn't under water. Not much got planted until mid May so it's pushing to make up for lost time, not getting much direct sun to help it.

I think my neighborhood is always 'average' because we have rolling ground in a heavy water saturated area. If it rains too much the bottoms drown out, the hills do a little better than average. If it's a drought, we get good crops from the low and more sunshine, the hill tops burn off but there is a lot less work for the same income.

Was supposed to have showers over night, got .80 after .75 on Saturday. Lot of the ponds in the drownout spots have reformed.
