Besides you bought the land with trees so why is it a problem to leave the trees there.
Plus a managed woodlot can turn some good cash too.
i have seen people put numbers down showing a properly managed woodlot can compete with cash crops for income although timber sales happen every 10 yers or so rather than annually
Most farmers have extra time on their hands to manage their woodlot in the winter instead of wasting it playing around.
It is all in seeing trees as income producing instead of a weed.
And of course there is the benefit of windbreak that is lost when woodland is cleared too. | |
