Subject: RE: totaled car value

central - east central Minnesota -

gmark - 6/6/2018 05:27 reading the post below about totaling a car brings the question to me about what does the insurance company use as the value for a vehicle in regards to totaling it? Do they use an average retail value, or is it less than that? Theres a world of difference between dealer retail, and private sales.

They use a multitude of scores - data consisting of depreciated values generally.

Retail, private and dealer sales are the least or last values used, only when the insurance companies values are contested by the insured.
