Probably a silly Question, but here goes. Can I use grass clippings for mulch around the plants in our raised beds. Thought this might be a better use for them than waiting for them to compost.
It doesn't work as well as one would think. Since the grass is green/wet yet, and pretty fine, it just doesn't make a good mulch for several reasons as others say. It would rather turn itself into a heating smelly slimy composite pile than a nice mulch.
Give it a try, but work into it slowly.
