Southwest Iowa | I have been using Napa filters on my truck and seem to be getting along fine. Use a Diesel engine oil supplied by our ag supplier.
Someone on Agtalk suggested sending in an oil sample to see how the oil was holding up. Normally I wouldn’t do that because I have seen some oil tests and it just looks like a bunch of numbers on a page that you don’t understand. However, they suggested Blackstone labs because they take the time to write a report for each test and explain a little bit about the numbers. They can tell you a lot about what they find in the oil and how it is holding up. If you are worried about how your oil and filter are holding up, I would just send in a sample. It is likely that it is ok, but only one way to find out. I have almost doubled the service interval based on the test results. | |
