Once you got to the point of being willing to actually hire someone, I had a credit check and disclosure form they had to sign. Generic, although it was thru my truckers association. I’d run credit and MVR searches on them, but in all honesty, that wasn’t really good enough. I had a couple with criminal back grounds that didn’t show up. I guess the next step would be using a service, and that is probably a good way to go if you don’t know much about someone’s background. Having said that, I think you should follow that procedure for all employees in that classification, whether they are known to you or not. | |
