North Central NC | I spent a lot of years as a New Home Consultant (sales person) for several National home builders, and your new home tour is not at all unusual.
It's true that builder floor plans are legally protected property, and unless you're a buyer already under contract, I would never have allowed you to measure anything in my model or inventory homes.
On the other hand, I routinely handed out information packages on the community and the homes available there that included floorplans with clearly marked room dimensions, so, really, using a tape measure was pretty much unnecessary.
In many cases, floor plans (with dimensions) are readily available on builder/community websites. | |
