Subject: New to posting here, but have been reading a lot over the last couple of years


Western Illinois
We have farmed from scratch since 2009. My grandfather farmed, but my dad did not. Loved going to the farm as a kid and enjoy it in my free time now. Wanted to be more productive than playing video games on line... We background calves and farm about 80 acres of crop ground in western IL.

I had a question about the open interest in futures contracts. For instance, in May Oats, there is only 3 open interest but there are many more bids to buy and sell. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks
