We are the greatest peredator on the planet. No other mortal living thing has a fraction of the power to harm us that we have to them, even on an individual basis.
As a kid I used to like hunting for the fun of it. Now I think differently about it. I’ve tried to imagine life from the animals perspective. We have taken over almost every corner of this planet. Very few of them mean us any harm and those that do are simply looking for food or are acting in self defence. It must be hard for them to try to find a place that meets their own needs for survival yet doesn’t inconvenience a human enough to be killed let alone be killed just for the fun of it.
I still will deal with a real problem but I try my best to live and let live if I can. |
