Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | Attached charts are graphical images of Barchart End-Of-Day CBOT Grain Futures price change and volume data tables for April 25 2018.
Notice the legend in upper left of top panel in each image. Those legends enumerate what is shown in the images. Notice that best long contract (highest positive price change percent) is the July18 futures for both wheat and corn but it is the Nov18 futures for soybeans. It is NOT the nearby futures (May18) for any of the grain futures.
So, my question: does anyone have an explanation, or opinion, for why we would (should) expect that behavior? Thanks in advance for all comments.
