When I started farming, ..late 1980's 160 bu corn yield was a great crop. This is irrigated Nebraska. I can remember combining the first field that our farm had that broke 180. Now if a field doesn't make 220 something went wrong agronomically. Wind and hail seem to be the biggest threat. So at least 60 bu increase over 30 years...about 2bu/yr. Without irrigation, I am sure that the consistency would be much different.
