A subsidy is my tax dollars going directly to a business.
Let's say a cotton farmer.
A tax deduction is the ability for the tax payer to pay less taxes to the government.
Ford, Chevy what have ya, do not get a subsidy.

They get the check from the Farmer who got the subsidy check
you have to remember where the money comes from
and just where did the car makers bailout money come from
