SE ND | Get up early to haul out steers, find a heifer calving, go sort of steers and no progress on heifer so pulled the calf. Go to sale, markets down, snowed on the way home, get home feed cows late and kids stay there's a new calf. Filled with optimism I go look to find a prolapsed 5 yr old cow, call vet and they fix her up. She never stood up and was gone within 2 hours. Now we have a bottle calf. What a day and being up 23 hours now I'm done and ready for bed but we are trying to get the calf to take his bottle... The joys and pitfalls of cattle.
