I'll try what you suggest. I do have fencing pliers. It seems if someone took the time and effort to make a tool like I pictured there must be a reason. Hopefully it is faster than using any sort of pliers, once you figure out how to use it. The number of clips on a 5 wire fence, either HT or barb, with a T post (and 5 clips) every 10 ft, is significant.
