Probably the best advice, bogtrotter.

A lot of the older farmsteads were wired on sound electrical practices, but in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s the electricians, and power providers had figured out what they had to do minimumly, to get by, then add another layer of minimalism from the farmstead and homeowners, some of these installations are causing issues now.

My son is a lineman, and it’s pretty enlightening when we look at old service box, especially ones installed in that time frame mentioned, and tells how they would do it nowadays.
