Went through this with one of my 2.5 year old twins, it was the worst I had ever seen out of 4 kids over 8 years. Nothing seemed to help even tried a nebulizer with albuterol. Later read that albuterol won't provide any relief to voice box swelling or croup. Ibuprofen seemed to help the most, reduces swelling. We sat outside on the deck a few times, second time seemed to get her opened up a little better.
Good luck, hang in there sucks having to decide whether to go to the er.
Good advice! We used it. Give her children's Motrin last night and she settled down. We are setting up an appointment for her today with doctor in case tonight gets bad. Hopefully get some steroids
