Neighbor has some 3rd cutting alfalfa grass baleage he made as the rain was coming. He thinks it was about 40%. Would this hay work for back grounding 400 pound heifers? Would I need to continue to supplement with something? Currently they are on pasture and getting 4 pounds shelled corn and supplement pellet. The bales weigh about 1200#. What would be a fair value?
