It's probably a wash...dryland corn acres have increased from zero to minuscule over the last few years here but i think it just gets too darn hot for it to ever be a reliable option. I actually planted one field this year in late June and it looks promising but I got a 2 inch rain and a string of 85 degree days during pollination. If I knew I could depend on that kind of weather I'd plant a bunch.
