Had a field cut for earlage on last Thursday, some of the sucker ears hadn't even dented fully yet. The drought stressed corn was so far behind I don't know what to think of it now. Need a good week of good corn weather and I don't think we are gonna get it. Good news is, I really don't care how much falls on the ground in the mean time and that's a pretty poor attitude to have but there ya go.

Hard to care when corn is worth a dollar more on the ground than it is in the bin.

Fwiw my corn is black layered to 25% milk line.
The plant is mostly green, we could use a frost and sun. Glad I don't raise potatoes, edible beans or soybeans, it has not been this wet in the fall for many years.
