NS Canada | 1 tote weighs over 2200lbs full. I'm currently watering 35 pair in one hay field with 5-600 lb claves on em and half a dozen heifers, +bull and they use 2 totes a day on a warm day. On heavy dew days they only use a little over 1 tote. Pretty big difference.
I park the wagon outside the fence and run hose gravity fed into a tub with a float.
Trough is hardly big enough, and hose feeding it isnt big enough, but they don't push it around too much and they've been taking turns drinking for the most part, I just started piecing this setup together, gonna plumb 4 totes together with larger hose (1200 gallons = 10,000 lbs of water). And it's best to use bulk water fill up from town, or a gas transfer pump to fill em out of a pond or stream, takes over an hour to fill 1 tote out of my well @ +1000 liters a pop.
Can get totes fairly cheap if you look around, or free in some cases. to buy one large tank 12 or 1500 gallons was gonna be $1600-2000 from what I saw around here.
* And I wont be doing any of this in frozen weather.
