If people that bash ZH are only getting their news from main stream news outlets, they are getting the news they are told to think.

You definitely need to be a thinking person to read ZH and be selective in what you believe. An unthinking drone could certainly be led astray there.

It covers stuff the main stream news totally avoids (or avoids till they are forced to cover it or look like complete idiots) and brings alternative views to what the main stream espouses. It is up to the individual and their ability to think to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I will admit, going with the crowd is a much easier road. It just might not be the road I want to be on.
