| This has nothing to do with whether these numbers are right or wrong. This is about the "USDA is out to get us" mindset. I've heard that since the 1970's. How many thousands and thousands of people would that involve? No employee has had a bout of conscience and come forward? No reporter has smelled a Pulitzer and investigated? No USDA bigwig has slipped up in an interview or testimony?
IMHO, the government just isn't that efficient.
I heard Chuck Colson give an interview after Watergate and the jist was that they were the most powerful people in the world at that time, but they couldn't hush up a minor break-in.
