This would be from roughly around the Salem area. Last year I had heard of *some* poorer numbers than TLfarm mentioned, but they had drought in some of that area last year too and the rains came later than this year. I remember the western ground he chopped was poor, down to 70/80-150, but the eastern stuff was like TL mentioned.

All in all, from what I heard last year in that area, I'd agree with TL's assessment. Plus, he probably farms that area, so he'd have a better idea than I.

I think my area will surprise of few of the guys that haven't been checking their crops, the rain and cool weather came at the perfect time when we were hot and getting dry. That is, if we can avoid a frost for 2-3 more weeks. I'll post appraisal numbers for my area when I hear them or when my ground is appraised.
