Pierce county WI
I got home today after being gone since Monday. The beans have just started turning around the area - far Western Wisconsin. They weren't planted early. They have had excellent moisture. We kinda thought it could be 2nd week of October before we combine. Normal is right around the first week of October. We had a wet cool stretch in mid may, so the beans have been behind all year as far as canopy. Well we had good rain in July, and crazy amount of rain in August. I think the cloudy weather taking away the sun, and the cold temps especially in the morning have convinced the beans it's later. We've combined beans in mid September before in 2012, but they were planted earlier in 2012. I'm sure it will be 3 weeks because anybody combines beans here at the earliest. But they definitely have started to turn. Last year we had all September to put on bean yield.
