Depending on the temperature and when plants are producing I water an inch of water around five days to a week. Again you want to keep at least two inches of mulch on top. This does a couple things keeps evaporation to a minimum, keeps weeds from germinating and it helps keep water from running down between the tote and the soil as the soil dries and shrinks it leaves a small space between the two, so use mulch.
