Subject: RE: Will Fall Fertilizer pay

Monett Missouri
Fall fertilization of fescue works well in SW MO. But ROI is greatly influenced by rain amounts and temperatures. Feeding stockpiled grass is easier and cheaper than feeding hay and almost always a higher quality of feed than our typical late baled fescue hay. But after saying all that I base my decision of whether or not to fertilize by looking at my hay pile. For me lots of hay means no or minimal nitrogen. If I am short on hay I will fertilize more cool season grasses. Jared
