Subject: Instead of playing pin the tail on the crop all the time

Ontario's middle east
Maybe we should consider some strategy for new crop. Particularly the stuff that has to move to town this fall. With adequate stocks, there is a strong draw at expiration to pull the next month down to the expiry level. That leaves quite a bit on the table with an already wide (and IMO widening) u-z. That 14c has been a significant part of any rallies. No guaranty, but something worth considering. If you are looking at straight board hedges for storage, go straight to the deferred for 10+ z-h, 17 z-k 23 z-n. I don't know how short that tail gets pinned but have enough bruises to play defense on my storage. Consider how this timing also plays in with my seasonal post in Fry's thread below.... Not a certified adviser... ppl can and do lose money.... bla bla blah
