Central South Dakota
We are half way through ours and our best quarter went 35 where a small band of rain went through at just the right time. The variability though is the kicker this year, our worst field went 7bu acre and it was 1/2 mile down the road and across a gravel road in a different section, but both fields yielded similar the year before........rain just missed that one. Most of what we have cut is ranging from 15-25 bushel/acre. If I had to guess a WAG on yield for the entire farm right now I'm going to say either side of 20 bu will get it. This is on ground with a APH of 45-50bu and the last 3-5 years since we started trying to manage wheat more intensely we have been cracking 60-70 bu spring wheat on a regular basis. Quality and protein were good.
