NW MN | If it pencils do it. I'm in a similar spot, 31 and my fourth crop. Zero bins, hard to build since I'm all rented land and spread over 130 miles with little long term security at this point. I'd love to have a bunch of bins for marketing ease and options.
Marketing is a challenge, I hear what you are saying. How much do I dare presell? Will I have 20bu beans or 40 so how do I know how much to presell? Need to sell as much as possible early to avoid harvest lows and -.90/-1.30 corn/bean basis, but don't dare oversell. Hard to know this ahead of time.
Bins will give you major options and at least here will pay for themselves on carry and basis. | |
