Lancaster, OH | Had one in the 70's. Surgeon had been a military surgeon and said that was a major issue in WWI & WWII riding in Jeeps and the benches in trucks. He lanced it in a very long incision and we left it open--no stitches--so that it would continue to drain. No problem since.
That was one painful boil down deep. Interestingly, it is a birth defect in that when the embryo involves to form the alimentary canal, some cells that were destined to be epidermis are still inside and hair grows causing an infection. Fun fact of a non-fun ailment. | |
