NE SD | The last year we grew wheat was 2009 I believe. It was cold and wet most of the summer especially from heading to grain fill and even tho the wheat was standing good it go some kind of bacterial blight that turned it yellow and caused the heads not to fill properly. I think it yielded in the 40's but after that we quit. Guys grow good wheat here most years but isn't it kindof a dry season crop? Do you anticipate any disease problems with it getting smow/rain/wet right after heading? I am very sorry you guys have to look forward to harvesting half a crop if your predictions come true. Thanks in advance. | |
